This is beautiful! I love the way you brought those recognizable daily details into verse. So glad you found the time amid postpartum to write and share!
Oh my, this resonates with my soul so deeply! My daughter is now almost 20, but these words definitely sum up how I felt during her toddler years. I’m also a nanny to a toddler and an infant, so I’m re-living some of the same struggles that I had with my daughter all over again with my almost-two-year-old charge. I love him dearly, but some days I go home exhausted and feeling defeated. Thank you for sharing these beautiful words. I’m going to place them in my Bible as a reminder that the work I did with my daughter and the work God has given me to do now is hard, but so important.
Two year olds are delightful and also can make you want to sob in the bathroom with the door locked! (Like the delightful little turkey who inspired this poem)
Such good and helpful words. I’m getting ready to have my next sometime in the next couple weeks and preparing for nicu life for awhile. Will be a helpful reminder to take with me. Blessings to you.

So great Annelise! You will have to write a “teenager” version when your kids get older. ❤️😊
Ha! We shall see... I’m trying to stick to the things I know for now. One step at a time 😅

Just so true and lovely. ❤️
What a wonderful poem! Very hopeful to know and remember that you’ll be okay. You’re making an investment in little lives, and that is priceless.
