I’ve been trying to write this post for two weeks now. I had the idea to document a “normal” day about halfway through last Monday morning. It was partially selfish — I feel like life is flying by in a blur, and sometimes noticing what’s in the day makes you appreciate what you’re doing.
Originally I thought it would be fun to share a full day, and I took notes on two separate days. Some time passed, I didn’t have a chance to write, and as I thought through the post I realized that as much as I love reading about other people’s days, more often than not these type of posts invite either comparison or judgement. I know this because I’ve done both. I thought about putting it behind the paywall just this once, but it felt a little icky — like pimping out my family for a “pay per view”. It’s vulnerable, isn’t it? Sharing a whole day’s worth of activity brings with it the fear that someone will think it’s too much or not enough, or assume that because one day looks a certain way, every day…
